Sailability Batemans Bay

Wharf Road, Nelligen

Indicative Prices: $5 to $35

Sailability Batemans Bay is a not for profit volunteer-based branch of Sailability NSW, which is affiliated with Sailability World and Sailability Australia. Sailability embraces recreation, therapeutic and competitive activities, and entry level to elite world championships and Paralympic training.

Sailing is one of the few sports in which able-bodied sailors and disabled sailors participate on equal terms. Through sailing, Sailability seeks to enrich the lives of people challenged by physical and/or intellectual disability, the elderly, and the financially and socially disadvantaged.

Their Hansa dinghies are stable and purpose-built for disabled use. Imagine the thrill of sailing for people who have no sight, or of sailing a boat at speed even though they can’t walk, or of joining in a sport where deafness doesn’t matter. They welcome new sailors.

They meet on the foreshore at Nelligen, adjacent to the boat ramp, from 10.30am to 3.30pm (weather permitting).
